ASSIGNMENT 9
PUTTING ON A NEW FACE... Choose a commonly-found object that possesses a face as it's MAIN design feature. Such objects include playing cards, coins, certain logos, etc. Choose a different face, that of a recognizable celebrity or any other face that CLEARLY is not the face in the original design. Replace the original face with the new face using the filters and effects of Photoshop, Sumo, Pixlr, etc. to make the new face appear as though it blends right in with the old design as far as style, color and other design elements. See my example below but come up with something new and original. I call it The Trump Card, ha ha ha... ANNOUNCEMENT

Design a (fake) website home page. The website is about you, what you do, your interests, loves, hates, etc. Think of it like a social media profile page but in the form of a full website. It should include all of the items and images a good website should have including links, galleries, info buttons/links and so on. It should not be an actual website, but a composition made in Sumo, Pixlr, Photoshop or whatever raster photo program you've been using. This assignment is only intended to have the appearance of a real homepage. Be creative. Choose interesting photos, fonts, colors. etc. Do some research online. Look at website pages designed by professional graphic artists. Assignments 4, 5, 6 and 7 are due no later than Tuesday, September 26 (for Period 3) and Wednesday, September 27 (for Periods 6 and 7). Please print the assignments on 8 1/2' x 11" paper (good old plain copier paper is just fine) in color or greyscale. Make sure your first and last name and period # are written on the back of each sheet.
Movie Poster Assignment 7
Design a promotional poster for a fictitious movie. Start by creating a concept/idea for a pretend movie. Using a combination of multiple images found online, design a creative, "eye-catching" poster that would be used to advertise your movie. Think about the posters that you see outside of movie theaters. Definitely go online and search movie poster images. Look at the type-setting and font choices, colors, layouts, etc. Researching what professional graphic artists have designed for posters for well-known movies will be a great place to start. The design should be creative in concept, original in design and realistic in appearance (even if the overall "story" the poster is telling is fantasy. See my example below. Assignment #6
Political Satire Image FAKE NEWS Using three or more images found online, create a national or international news event that never actually happened. ASSIGNMENT #5
MAGAZINE COVER Design the cover for a magazine (real or imagined). The design has to have a photo of you in it. It can be a portrait (like my example below) or a picture of you doing something like playing music or sports or any other pastime or hobby you engage in. Create the title and any other text that explains what the magazine and/or the stories in it are about. Do some research online of images of the covers of well-known magazines for inspiration. |
